PULL A FACE @ SHUNT
Thanks to Alice Hoult who came up with the concept and illustrations for ‘Pull a Face’.
And Thanks to Kate Newbold, Chand Martinez, Jules Goldsmith, Bella Fanning, Victoria Torrence, and Joe Malia, for helping the hundreds of drunken and merry revelors in making a hand pulled screenprint.
We are part of the MuTate Britain show @ BEHIND THE SHUTTERS GALLERY.
PRINT CLUB will be printing every friday, saturday and sunday at the show until the 21st December with exhibiting artists. Print Club members will also be printing, signing and selling editioned screen prints.
Look forward to seeing you down there!

Here’s the brief for NYE at the Slaughtered Lamb…Funkin Punkin are putting on a New Year Eve party at the Slaughtered Lamb in Clerkenwell to see out the year. Famed for good time parties doused in hedonism, at great venues with twisted themes, this year will be no exception. We are looking for creative input to theme the party, venue, flyers and tickets. Therefore we are running a short pitch to anyone interested in submitting. The venue is an ex-gallery in the back streets of Clerkenwell, in an old industrial building. The pub is distinguished by high ceilings and full height windows onto the street on two sides and a dark and dimly lit interior with a classic central bar. We need to screen these windows and are looking to use giant prints which will be visible from inside and out and provide visual interest and theme. The theme is roughly speaking a CELEBRATION OF LONDON LIFE.We are looking for graphic character based images that represent all things London in layered stories of any or some of the following:Ye’olde London + Modern day LondonNew Times + Old TimesGood times + Dark timesRhymes + ReasonsAlleys + LanesCobles + GoldFables + LegendsHedonism + StoicismSatirical twistsRabbit down the holePuss in bootsHistory + MysteryThings + Stuff…The format will be black + white perhaps with one other colour, digital or screen print on lightweight paper to be pasted onto the windows and backlit. Average window bay is 4 panels of apx 0.8-1mX2m. There are 5 bays of 4 panels and 1 bay of 2. Images can take up a whole bay over the 4 panels or just panel by panel.Flyer will be viral email.Tickets will be screen print. We will commission 4-5 works for a bottle of bubbly and a pair of free tickets for the night. All artists will be credited on all the media and we will look into further ways of promoting and selling the work with proceeds going to the artists.Submission date is 14th November so get scribbling!

Every word and every image and every mark of any kind in The Manual was drawn by a team of volunteers – mostly illustrators. The printing was also by hand, silk screened at The Print Club in Dalston. Each copy of the paper has been numbered in a limited edition of around 100.
This one-off non-profit project was organised by Shakeup Media to make a point about the future of print. We hope to show that handmade qualities can transform newspapers from ‘junk’ to collectable. We also want to demonstrate the power of print as a medium by using ink and paper in a manner that emphasises their unique touch, smell and texture.
